How Asian Handicap works

An Asian Handicap assigns a virtual goal head-start to one team. If the favourite is -1, they need to win by two clear goals for AH bets on them to win. If the underdog is +1, they can lose by one goal or draw or win, and AH bets on them still win.

Quarter-lines explained

Quarter-lines like -0.25 split your stake in half. On a -0.25 line: if your team wins, both halves win; if the game draws, the -0.25 half loses and the level-line half pushes; if your team loses, both halves lose. Quarter-lines are how bookmakers price the "half-draw" outcome.

When we use AH

We publish Asian Handicap picks whenever the 1X2 line is inefficiently priced but a handicapped line still offers edge — often on matches where a heavy favourite has a fair value 1X2 but a tempting -1 or -1.5 AH line.

Frequently asked questions

Is Asian Handicap safer than 1X2?

AH eliminates the draw, which some tipsters find useful. But it still carries risk — a favourite backed at -1.5 needs to win by two goals or more.

What is a "push" in Asian Handicap?

A push is when the AH line exactly ties the result — for example, a -1 favourite winning by exactly one goal. Your stake is returned in full.

Do you publish Asian Handicap picks?

Yes. AH is one of our preferred markets when the 1X2 price is inefficient but a handicapped line offers analytical edge.
